Brain Injury Association of Queensland Inc.
The Brain Injury Association of Queensland is the peak disability organisation in Queensland for those living with acquired brain injury. The Association coordinates a range of services for people with a head injury, carers, family members and professionals throughout Queensland .

Disability Services Queensland

DSQ is the first disability focused department in Queensland. Central to ongoing reform of disability services, we represent a new way forward for people with a disability and their families. DSQ works closely with communities to enhance service delivery and allow people with a disability and their families more input into the policies that affect them.

Carers Australia
Carers Australia provides carers with information and education resources, undertaking community awareness raising activities and coordinating and facilitating joint work between the state and territory organisations on matters of national significance. Links to other states from their homepage.

Commonwealth Carelink Centres
Commonwealth Carelink Centres are information centres for older people, people with disabilities and those who provide care and services. Centres provide free and confidential information on community aged care, disability and other support services available locally, interstate or anywhere within Australia.

Commonwealth Carer Respite Centres
Commonwealth Carer Respite Centres work with carers to plan sensible approaches to respite and other support needs and also arrange 24 hour emergency respite care. This link will take you to a listing of these centres throughout each state in Australia.

Disability Information Service
Disability Information Service is a free, statewide disability information and resource service provided by Disability Services Queensland.

National Disability Internet Portal
This new page page is now part of the Australian Government's website www.australia.gov.au. The website links to information and services on over 700 Australian Government websites as well as selected state and territory resources. The disability portal provides coordinated access to a range of online disability-related information and resources:

EnableNet is being developed as a site for information on disability and a meeting place for people interested in disability issues.

Home and Community Care
The HACC program is a joint Commonwealth, State and Territory initiative. It funds maintenance and support services to help frail older people and younger people with disabilities continue to live in the community.
