The Society will take a complaint about malpractice, professional misconduct or unprofessional conduct or practice by a Qld Solicitor or their employee. It does not give legal advice.

How to complain

You can ring for advice, but your complaint must be in writing. Click here to go to the QLS' complaints process and to use the QLS complaints form.

(2) Legal Ombudsman

If you have complained to the Law Society,and you are not satisfied with the result, you may write to the Legal Ombudsman. The Legal Ombudsman is an independent person appointed by the Queensland Attorney-General to monitor and investigate complaints to the Law Society against solicitors. The Ombudsman will review the file on your complaint and if necessary re-open it. The Ombudsman cannot investigate a complaint that has not been investigated by the Law Society.
