(1) Weight Management Code Administration Council of Australia

The Weight Management Code Administration Council of Australia administers the Weight Loss Code of Practice. Go to the Code on the Council's web site.

The Council is made up of industry and consumer representatives and has an independent chairman. Members of the Council include organisations such as Jenny Craig, Lite'n Easy, Weight Watchers and Meditrim.

The Code is voluntary, so you should check whether the company you are dealing with has adopted it. The Council takes complaints from customers anywhere in Australia.

How to complain

Your complaint must be in writing, but you can ring for advice. You should include your contact information, the name of the company/individual you are complaining about, a copy of the contract or a description of the weight loss program and the price, copies of any correspondence, why you are complaining, what the company's response was when you contacted them.
